Proxy Bidding

You can enter an online bid as a proxy bid.

The system will automatically place your bid as the lowest amount needed to win the item.

If another bidder places a higher bid, but still below your maximum, then your bid is automatically raised so you remain the winning bidder.

For example, given an item (with a bid increment of $50) you bid $1,000 when the highest bid is $200. Your bid will be placed at $250. If someone else bids $300 then your bid will be raised to $300 and remain the winning bid. If someone else bids $1,050 then that becomes the new highest bid.

If you submit a bid not as a proxy bid then the full amount is recorded at the bid straight away.
